I came to help — English verb patterns
The commonest way to say why: just "to" plus the verb. "For" plus -ing is what a Hindi speaker reaches for, and it is wrong here.

verb + to + verb (meaning "in order to")

In Hindi
कारण बताने का सबसे आम तरीक़ा — बस "to" और क्रिया। "for" + -ing यहाँ ग़लत है।

I have come to help you.
मैं तुम्हारी मदद करने आ{या|ई} हूँ।
I want to go to the station.

I am buying this book to read it.

Easy to confuse with
