subject + [words] + verb
Find the real subject in a long sentence.
In Hindi
"along with", "as well as" जैसे वाक्यांश जानकारी जोड़ते हैं, पर कर्ता को बहुवचन नहीं बनाते।
CoCap explains every structure in both languages, because a rule you understand in Hindi is a rule you can use in English.
The sentence Indian-English speakers actually produce, and the reason it is wrong.
| Commonly said | Correct English |

The manager, along with two staff, were present. | The manager, along with two staff, was present. The subject is still "the manager" alone. |
These come first. The rest of this makes more sense once they are automatic.
Where this structure sits in the ladder, and what surrounds it.
When the subject is far away is a CEFR B2 structure — the confident band — and it belongs to agreement & negation. CoCap’s syllabus files every structure this way so you can learn in order instead of jumping between whatever a search happened to return.
